- 1). Charge the earpiece. Ensure the headset is fully charged before setting it up. On a lot of Bluetooth earpieces, an LED light will glow while charging and turn off when the charge is complete.
- 2). Turn on the cell phone you want to pair with the earpiece.
- 3). Find the Bluetooth options on the cell phone. On most phones, you must go into the "Settings" and then "Bluetooth," or "Bluetooth" may be on the phone's main menu. It varies from phone to phone, so consult your phone manual if you are unsure.
- 4). Press and hold the Bluetooth's main control button. On each Bluetooth earpiece, the main control button is a button on the outside of the earpiece, typically with an LED light on it. This button will usually double as the phone pick-up/hang-up button.
- 5). Select to put the cell phone in pairing mode. Depending on your phone, it may be called "Pairing Mode," "Discovery Mode" or "Sync Mode." Check your cell phone manual if you are unsure of which option to choose.
- 6). Allow the two devices to search and find each other. The devices are sending out signals. You will see the name of the Bluetooth earpiece show up on the cell phone when it is found.
- 7). Select "OK" or "Save" to select the earpiece to pair with the phone. You will be prompted to enter a PIN (personal identification number) for the earpiece. The default PIN is "0000" on Bluetooth headsets.
- 8). Place the earpiece on your ear. A Bluetooth earpiece is attached to an earbud that is inserted into one of your ears. The headset also has a hook that goes around your ear to keep the headset in place. The hook can be moved to fit your ear more snugly.
