When I read articles about information marketing, I am looking for one thing. I want one thing only. I want what Cuba Gooding, Jr. wanted from Tom Cruise in that movie, Jerry Maguire:
"Show Me The Money!"
That's right. It's all about the money. If you are about to start an online business, your first assignment must be to find out how you can make money online. If you are already involved in information marketing, your assignment is to find out how you can make MORE money online.
So here we go. I'm going to get you started, but you are going to have to help. What I want you to do right now is a little bit of homework. I'm going to give you some actions steps to take. I'm challenging you to really think about growing your business and being successful at information marketing.
First, you need to take a blank piece of paper. Just take an A4 or 8-by-11½-inch letter-size piece of paper.
Got it? Good.
Next, I want you to draw out what your business is going to look like when it's finished. Go ahead and sketch it. Or make lists in columns. Or draw a Venn diagram or a Tony Buzan Mind Map. Use whatever planning technique works best for you, but I want you to put all the different elements together for your information marketing business on one sheet of paper, right now.
Maybe you're just getting started, developing and testing an information product. Or, maybe you've got a business that's up and running. Whatever the pieces are that you need to complete your next phase, write them down. You want to have five, six, or seven of them. Put down all your important channels and activities. Draw them up as a blueprint on the page in front of you.
Now at the bottom of that page, I want you to write down the very next three action steps that you need to take. Number them Action Steps #1, #2 and #3.
Then, when you're done, I want you to decide which one of those three action items is the most important thing for you to do next. By most important, I mean the one that will help you make money online, or make MORE money online. Which one will help take your business the next level? Put a big circle around it.
Now, there are two last things to do, just as soon as you get that blueprint finished. Thinking about it is not the same as doing it, so you need to get it created as fast as you possibly can. Get it down on paper.
First, take that piece of paper and put it up on the wall. Put it up next to your computer, or put it on a board in your office. Or hey, maybe even put it up on the ceiling above your bed, so that when you open your eyes in the morning, it's the first thing that you look at.
I am having you put it up because you need to be reviewing your priorities and those action steps each and every day. You need to imprint that blueprint at a subconscious level. You want to let your mind help you figure out how to get it all done.
Then finally, as soon as you've got the paper pinned up where you can see it every day, I want you to take action on that one step that you circled, RIGHT NOW!
That's right. Stop reading this. Go and take some bold action. Do whatever it takes to go get some results and "Show Yourself The Money!"
