- 1). Open the battery bay on the back of the PSP and remove the PSP battery.
- 2). Remove the two black screws inside the battery bay. One black screw is located behind the warranty sticker. Be aware that removing this sticker will void your warranty.
- 3). Remove the two screws on the right side of the back of the PSP.
- 4). Remove the silver screw located on the bottom of the PSP next to the barcode.
- 5). Remove the analog stick thumb pad. This piece simply will pop out and must be removed before the cover can be taken off.
- 6). Take off the PSP faceplate. With all of the screws removed, it simply will lift out.
- 7). Remove the two screws that are securing the joystick to the inside of the faceplate.
- 8). Take out the joystick pad. You now can either replace it with a new one or open it up and attempt to fix it.
