Basic Principles and How They Relate to Chakras, Organs, Five Elements and Yin and Yang

The five basic principles can be written as follows:
  • Create a foundation/references for change
  • Tune and Control Connections
  • Be aware of Center
  • Create Room to Move
  • Choose an Expression
A Foundation can support the chosen expression of what we are trying to do.
It can be strong and stable or it can sensitive and variable or a little bit of both.
Connections allow the flow of change, energy or information into ourselves and out of ourselves.
By being aware of connections we can sense change and create it.
By tuning connections we can sense change as it happens and we can respond to it efficiently while continuing to be aware of what new change is happening.
Center unites all the elements of ourselves or what we are doing.
By being centered we can unify all parts of ourselves in what we are doing.
Room to Move is what we can create or look for in order to do what we are trying to do.
Depending on what we are trying to do, we might take room from one place and give it to another to better enable us to do what we are trying to do.
We can also manifest this principle by "Looking for the Gaps to Flow Through.
" Expression is the end product of what we are doing.
It is a direction that we move in, the end result of a choice that we make, the experience that we wish to have.
The expression is the point of the other four principles or the culmination of them all.
Chakra and Five Element Associations The five Basic Principles can be applied to the first five Chakra's as follows:
  • Foundation and Root Chakra
  • Connection and Sacral Chakra
  • Center and Solar Plexus Chakra
  • Room to Move and Heart Chakra
  • Expression and Throat Chakra
They can be related to the Five Elements as follows:
  • Foundation and Earth
  • Connection and Water
  • Center and Metal
  • Room to Move and Wood
  • Expression and Fire
We can thus use these Basic Principles to relate the Five Elements and the Chakras as follows:
  • Earth and 1st (Root) Chakra
  • Water and 2nd (Sacral) Chakra
  • Metal and 3rd (Solar Plexus) Chakra
  • Wood and 4th (Heart) Chakra
  • Fire and 5th (Throat) Chakra.
Because the five elements are also related to ten of the body's organs we can also relate the chakras to organs as follows:
  • Earth-Root Chakra-Stomach and Spleen
  • Water-Sacral Chakra-Bladder and Kidneys
  • Metal-Solar Plexus Chakra-Large Intestine and Lungs
  • Wood-Heart Chakra-Gall Bladder and Liver
  • Fire-Throat Chakra-Small Intestine and Heart
General Principles Basic Principles apply mainly to the realm of doing.
If we want principles that encompass life as a whole, then we can also include the following two principles:
  • Experience
  • Understand
The better we understand what we are doing the better we can do what we are doing and the more we can focus on experiencing what we are doing as well as the world around us.
The more we experience life the more understanding that we have and so these two principles fit together like yin and yang.
We can associate these two principles with the organs of the left and right sides of the brain.
We can also associate them with the Sixth (third eye) and Seventh (crown) Chakras.
We can also associate then with yin (inwards) and yang (outwards.
) As a final note, most sources talk about the Crown Chakra being at the crown of the head.
It may actually be at the back of the top of the head, angling up and back from the roof of the mouth at about 45 degrees.
