How to Check for Custom Tags

    • 1). Open the computer folder that has the digital media file you'd like to work with. Both digital media audio and video files have the potential to have custom identification tag information.

    • 2). Right click on the digital media file.

    • 3). Click "Properties."

    • 4). Click "Details." This will display the file's current identification tag information. If no information is filled out in the boxes you see on screen, the file does not have custom identification tag information. If the boxes you see on screen are filled out with various bits of artist and track information, then you're looking at a file with custom identification tag information.
