Easiest Way to Organize a House

    • 1). Write a list of things you often have a difficult time finding like keys, cell phones, papers, make-up or medication. Examine your daily routine. For example, many people walk into their home and throw the keys on the counter and later have a hard time finding them within the clutter. By writing a list of specific problems to tackle, you come up with problem-solving organizational ideas.

    • 2). Get rid of the unnecessary clutter. Tubes of toothpaste, old cleaning products, rusted tools, outdated electronic equipment and clothes that no longer fit should be thrown away or given to charity. Discard papers that are no longer important. Reduce the clutter before it occurs.

    • 3). Address your organizational needs. Buy a key holder next to the door, place a dish out for loose change, organize toiletries in bins to place underneath the sink or in a cabinet.

    • 4). Work on one room at a time. Designate specific areas of your home for certain items. Place papers in the home office and clothing in closet space.

    • 5). Store items that you rarely use like decorations, wrapping paper, tools and extra linens. Place in plastic storage bins to prevent them from getting moldy. Use space in attics of basements for storing your plastic bins. Make sure to label the bins with their contents in order to find them easily.
