- 1). Unscrew the Allen head screw at the base of the faucet handle with an Allen wrench and remove the screw. Set it in a safe place for now.
- 2). Pull back on the handle gently and slide it off the faucet. Take the adapter, which is right below the handle, off by sliding it off the faucet stem, the square rod under the adapter.
- 3). Take the dial's knob (called the limit stop) off the faucet by sliding it back. Grab the part with pliers if necessary.
- 4). Place the handle adapter back on so the adapter's pin is on the arrow on your faucet, and turn the adapter to turn on the water. Adjust the adapter until the water is at the temperature you desire. Let the water run for 30 seconds or more to establish that this is the proper temperature for you.
- 5). Remove the handle adapter by sliding it off the stem. Replace the limit stop on the stem and replace the adapter on top of the limit stop. Install the handle and tighten the set screw with the Allen wrench.
