- 1). Spray the screen-printing screen with water on both sides.
- 2). In a dimly lit room, peel the plastic off the sticky side of the emulsion sheet and carefully stick the sheet to the back of the screen (the flat side). Try your best to center the sheet and apply it smoothly.
- 3). Squeegee the emulsion sheet to smooth it and ensure adhesion. Lightly mist water over the front side of the screen and squeegee it to make sure the screen is wet enough and the emulsion will stick. If the screen looks splotchy, start over.
- 4). Slide the screen into the drying rack of the screen-printing machine. Press the fan button and allow to dry for one hour.
- 5). While the screen dries, print or draw your desired design on a transparency.
- 6). Remove the screen from the dryer. To ensure that it is completely dry, try peeling a corner of the emulsion sheet off. If it comes off easily, it is done.
- 7). Open the top of the screen-printing machine and tape the transparency to the surface glass.
- 8). Place the screen emulsion side down on the pegs and close the top of the machine.
- 9). Place a five-pound weight on top.
