PDF Password Recovery in Linux

    • 1). Launch a terminal window and install PDFcrack using your system's package-management utility. In Ubuntu, you can do this by typing "sudo apt-get install pdfcrack" and pressing "Enter."

    • 2). Navigate to where your encrypted PDF file is located using the cd command. Type "pdfcrack -b" and press "Enter" to see a benchmark of what PDFCrack will be capable of on your system. Consider using another system or a shell account for PDFCrack, as it may take some time and quite a bit of processing power to crack larger files.

    • 3). Type "pdfcrack yourfile.pdf," where "yourfile.pdf" is the name of your PDF file, then press "Enter" to start cracking the password.
