How to Change a Belt on Grand Cherokee

    • 1). Lift the hood.

    • 2). Unbolt the belt tensioner and loosen the belt.

    • 3). Remove the belt from the pulleys.

    • 4). Use the belt illustration inside the engine frame to see the proper serpentine belt pathway.

    • 5). Install the new serpentine belt on the pulleys, but do not attach the belt to the tensioner just yet.

    • 6). Move the tensioner around with the wrench and put the belt on the tensioner.

    • 7). Rotate the tensioner back to its natural place.
