How to Use a 20D Canon for Night Photos With a 10-22 Lens

    • 1). Attach the lens to the camera, if it is not already, by rotating the camera slowly inside the lens opening until it clicks into place. Remove the lens cap.

    • 2). Turn on the camera and set the shooting mode to "Night" by rotating the dial on top of the camera. This mode has an icon of a person with a small star in the background.

    • 3). Zoom the lens all the way out by rotating the lens zoom barrel to the right. While it is possible to shoot at other zoom levels, this setting will let in as much light as possible.

    • 4). Aim the camera at the subject and press the shutter button half-way. The flash unit may pop up if necessary.

    • 5). Press the shutter button fully to take the image. Look at the image on the LCD display for a brief review.
