- 1). Log on to Mac OS X with an account with administrative privileges and open the "Applications" folder. Open the "Utilities" folder. Double-click "Boot Camp." Use the visual tool to create a hard drive partition for your Windows installation of at least five GB. Click "Partition".
- 2). Insert the Windows XP installation disk into the computer. Click "Start Installation". The computer will restart.
- 3). Press any key on the keyboard to boot from the inserted disk. Specify the Windows partition on which to install the operating system, which is labeled "BOOTCAMP". Hit the Enter key.
- 4). Select "Format the partition using the FAT file system." Press Enter. Complete the Windows setup screens by setting the correct time zone and creating your local user account. The computer reboots into Windows.
- 5). Eject the Windows installation disk. Insert the Mac OS X operating system disk. When prompted, click OK to begin the installation of the Windows drivers from the Mac OS X operating system disk. Click "Continue Anyway" if Windows displays any Windows Logo Testing errors.
- 6). Click the "Boot Camp" icon in the Windows system tray. Click "Boot Camp Control Panel." From the "Startup Disk" tab, select the operating system you want as the default. Click OK.
