American Airlines
It is one of the leading carriers of the United States with an extensive domestic and international network. With the primary hubs in Chicago, Miami, New York, Dallas and Chicago, it operates hundreds of daily flights to different destinations. It is part of the Oneworld alliance and hence, it is associated with a number of other renowned names of the industry. This allows the carrier to serve its customers on routes like Mumbai to Charlotte and Chicago to Delhi flight, even if it does not operate on these. The former parent company of the carrier - AMR Corporation - filed bankruptcy in 2011. It then announced plans to merge with US Airways Group to become a part of the largest airline of the nation. According to terms and conditions, it gets to retain the brand name. The whole process was completed in 2013, and an increase in American Airlines flight ticket booking has been seen since then. As a part of the expansion, these leading global airlines are looking forward to start operations in Middle Eastern and Asian countries.
Launch of New International Flights from India
Similarly, as per reports, Emirates and Air Arabia have applied to aviation authorities of India for permission to launch international flights from Indore. As of now, any long-haul flight is not operated from terminals of Madhya Pradesh. They are in the process of sorting things out with government of the country. Officials of the respective carriers are looking forward to getting a positive response, and will start the business soon after getting the nod.
The principal secretary of commerce and industry of Arab visited the city and possibilities to start the operation. Infrastructure and facilities at the airport can easily handle these international flights, and if everything goes as planned, travellers may soon book an Air Arabia direct flight between Nagpur and Sharjah, and Mumbai and Sharjah. On the other hand, Emirates Airlines may launch introduce launch its services on Indore and Dubai route. All the preparations regarding the launch have already been done on the part of airport management and carriers. A proposal regarding custom clearance and excise duties has been sent to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
