ATVs, or all-terrain vehicles, are enjoyable for many people, but if you do not live in the country or own a sizable piece of land, finding a place to ride your ATV may be difficult. Many localities have places available just for those who want to ride their ATVs. Lynchburg, Virginia, and surrounding areas have some parks where ATV riders can use their vehicles. - The South Pedlar ATV trail runs through a couple of parks, including the Jefferson and George Washington National Forests. The trail has 18 miles that loop around and reconnect with each other. There are areas for more experienced drivers and areas for those who are still learning how to drive their ATVs. South Pedlar trail has several scenic stops along the way for riders to enjoy. The trail is open from April 1 to Nov. 30. Contact the ranger's office for additional details.

Virginia.org - Crabtree Falls is in the George Washington National Forest. Allow plenty of time to ride along these ATV trails, as there is so much to see. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Blue Ridge Mountains and of course the waterfalls. This trail ranks in the mid-difficulty range. There are some difficult sections, but for the most part it is not too hard to follow. You can camp along the sides of the trail as long as there is enough room for your tent and all your equipment. There are also holes available for swimming if you desire. Many hiking-specific trails are available for those who want to walk.
