Winterhurst Ice Rink, part of the Lakewood parks system, is Northeast Ohioâ??s premier ice-skating facility and one of the largest and most unique ice-skating centers in the United States. In operation for 74 years, Winterhurst has drawn Olympic hopefuls from around the country to train with hometown coach and former Olympian Carol Heiss Jenkins. Some of her pupils, such as USFSA gold medalist, Tonia Kwiatkowski have also joined the training staff.

Activities at Winterhurst:

Winterhurst is not all about champions, however. The facility welcomes the public to join in a full schedule of activities, including public skates, College â??late nightâ? skates, Easter â??Skating with the Easter Bunnyâ? skates for kids, and a myriad of other activities. The rink may be rented for a day or an evening and is an ideal spot for a birthday party, family event, or company outing.

Sports and Lessons at Winterhurst:

Winterhurst hosts a hockey league, skating club, and speed skating groups. Lessons are available in all of these sports. Winterhurst is also the home of St. Edwardâ??s and Lakewood High School hockey games.
