- 1). Draw a picture of a woman in long robes with a blindfold, minus the arms, on the paper towel roll using markers. Be sure the top of her head comes up to the top of the paper towel roll. Make sure the shoulders go all the way to the sides of the paper towel roll near the top. If desired, you may draw a sword balanced near the bottom of the paper towel roll; otherwise skip the sword in this model.
- 2). Poke a hole on each side of the paper towel roll, where the woman's shoulders are, with a pencil or hole punch. Be sure the holes are evenly spaced on the paper towel roll.
- 3). Glue the bottom of the paper towel roll to the center of the wood base. Allow the glue to dry thoroughly.
- 4). Push the wood craft dowel through the holes at the shoulders in the paper towel roll. This dowel will represent the woman's arms holding the scales.
- 5). Cut two circles of identical size out of the cereal box, for the scale plates. These circles can be small or as large as about 3 inches in diameter. Paint the circles if desired and allow the paint to dry thoroughly.
- 6). Punch 4 holes, evenly spaced, around the edge of each circle with the hole punch.
- 7). String yarn through one hole in the circle and tie it. Run the yarn over the top edge of the wood craft dowel, then secure it in the opposite punched hole. Repeat the process for the other pair of holes. Do this for the other scale plate as well. You can use a dab of craft glue to hold the yarn in place on the dowel if desired, after being sure the scales are even on both sides.
