- 1). Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the Internet connection device such as a cable or DSL modem.
- 2). Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the "Internet" or "WAN" port on the router.
- 3). Connect wired computers to the router's "LAN" ports with Ethernet cables.
- 4). Open a Web browser, then type "192.168.1.1" into the address bar. Press "Enter."
- 5). Type "admin" and "password" for the username and password.
- 6). Click the "Wireless Settings" link in the left column.
- 7). Click "WPA" or "WPAv2," then type in a password to use for the wireless network.
