- 1). Unplug the Eureka vacuum cleaner. Press the handle release lever located on the rear-left side of the vacuum's cleaning head. Lay the Eureka's handle flat on the floor.
- 2). Remove the two screws holding the plastic cleaning head cover in place with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Lift the plastic cover from the cleaning head to reveal the brush roll and belt.
- 3). Lift the brush roll from the cleaning head. The roll has two plastic pieces on either side that sit into the slots at either end of the cleaning head.
- 4). Remove the belt from the motor drive shaft located on the right side of the cleaning head. Slide the belt from the brush roll, and set it aside.
- 5). Place the new belt onto the motor drive shaft. Slide the opposite end of the belt over the brush roll and rest it onto the section of the roll previously occupied by the spent belt. Replace the two plastic pieces on either end of the brush roll into the slots at the sides of the cleaning head.
- 6). Place the plastic head cover back over the Eureka's cleaning head, and screw in the two screws with the screwdriver.
- 7). Plug the Eureka True Clean vacuum into the wall socket. Turn the unit over so that the bottom of the cleaning head is facing upward. Reach around to the back of the cleaning head and press the power switch. Check to make sure the brush roll is spinning, signifying a successful belt replacement.
