No one wants to admit that they have an eating disorder.
However, if ignored, this could be a very risky situation to put oneself in.
Among other things, eating disorders could make a person obese, which could open up a whole Pandora's Box of problems.
Obesity could bring on cardiovascular ailments such as atherosclerosis and hypertension and other problems such as diabetes, paralysis and so on.
This could be your problem too, and if it is, it is best if you can look into it as soon as possible.
But most people don't know they have this problem.
In order to help you take stock of the situation, here's a list of things that can help you decide whether or not you are suffering from this problem.
1.
The first indication is weight gain.
Is your weight gain more than it should happen normally at your age, for your body type? Check out with a BMI chart to see what your ideal weight must be.
If your weight is steadily increasing, you might be a victim of an eating problem.
The period that you must closely check is three months.
If you have significantly gained weight over the last three months, it is something you need to seriously look at.
2.
Is eating a kind of stress relief for you? Do you resort to eating when you are depressed or sad or lonely? Do you tend to eat more when you are bored? If that's the case, your problem is complex.
Your psychology has begun to associate eating with mental problems, which is as dangerous as a smoker associating a cigarette with their mental state.
You need to exercise better mind control, and probably use some therapies that will help remove this association between mental condition and food.
3.
Do you find yourself looking at weight loss products very seriously? If you do, your mind subconsciously knows that your weight is high and it is trying to find solutions over the problem.
Take this as a warning sign.
If you get tempted to try out different dietary products, you have probably already jeopardized your health by eating unhealthily.
4.
The same applies to you if you have been using substances such as laxatives and diuretics to keep your body clean from within.
The use of these supplements means that your body is not capable of proper metabolism itself; a sure sign that you need attention.
5.
Are you getting proper sleep? This can be another indicator of an eating disorder.
When you eat more than you can handle, your body malfunctions, and sleeplessness is a common offshoot of these problems.
6.
Are you tempted to eat even when you are not hungry? This is a dangerous sign of eating disorders.
If you are forcing yourself to eat, even when hunger doesn't signal you to do that, you are definitely harboring an eating problem within you.
Solving an eating problem is more about mind control than anything else.
You have to learn how to resist temptation.
Though eating disorders are quite rampant today, people are bringing them under check by using mind control methods such as Yoga.
If this turns out to be your problem too, you will find such methods waiting to treat you.
