Voyager from AC Delco
Obtain a 12-volt car or marine battery and two adjustable battery terminal collars from AC Delco or another store that is convenient to you. - 2
Inverter
Obtain a DC inverter from Radio Shack, Wal-Mart or another store that carries inverters. - 3
16-gauge wire
Cut two 6-foot lengths of 16-gauge wire with the wire cutters and remove a 1-inch length of the outer insulation from both ends of each wire with the wire cutters, exposing about 1 inch of copper wire on the ends of the 6-foot wires. - 4). Connect one of the 6-foot-long wires to the red (positive) post of the 12-volt battery; secure with one battery post collar and the adjustable wrench. Loosen the red post screw cap on the inverter and connect the unattached end of this wire to the red post of the inverter. Wrap the wire around the inverter post, and tighten the inverter post screw.

Hookup
Connect the other 6-foot-long wire to the black (negative) post of the 12-volt battery; secure with one battery post collar and the adjustable wrench. Loosen the black post screw cap on the inverter, and connect the unattached end of this wire to the black post of the inverter. Wrap the wire around the inverter post, and tighten the inverter post screw. - 6). Turn the switch on the DC inverter to the "On" position. The switch show glow, indicating power is flowing properly to the inverter.
