You Don"t Need Body Creams With Collagen and Elastin

Should you buy body creams with collagen and elastin? The collagen and elastin added to skin creams are mostly derived from marine sources or plants.
They are supposed to supplement the skin's protein content, but they are not genetically similar to human skin.
A better idea is to give the cells what they need to produce pro-collagen and pro-elastin.
You see, what happens is that the cells secrete pro-collagen and pro-elastin molecules.
Outside of the cell, those molecules bind with other protein fragments, known as peptides to form tropo-collagen or elastin fibrils.
Multiples of these fibrils combine to form "fibers", which are then weaved together with keratin, elastin and hyaluronic acid to form the skin's matrix.
Sound complicated? Sorry.
Basically, if you use body creams with collagen and elastin, they may make your skin feel "tighter" as the gels dry, but they are not really benefitting your skin's health.
After a few hours, your appearance will be the same as it was before you used them.
As, I mentioned earlier, the collagen and elastin added to skin creams are not genetically similar to human skin.
They are prone to cause redness and other types of adverse reaction.
There is no need to take the risk, because the skin's cells can't use those proteins to create anything.
There is a type of keratin (called Functional Keratin) that can be used to simulate the production of new cells and the secretion of pro-collagen and pro-elastin.
It is also hypoallergenic.
If this keratin is used instead of the collagen and elastin added to skin creams, there is a measurable improvement in skin-cell proliferation, moisture content, collagen content and firmness.
As firmness returns, wrinkles, lines, stretch marks and even old scars begin to fade.
The manufacturers of body creams with collagen and elastin might make similar claims, but they don't have the clinical research to back it up.
Clinical studies cost money and take time.
Cosmetic companies don't want to spend the money and they want to get their products on the market quickly.
The safety of collagen and elastin added to skin creams has never been evaluated by regulating agencies or industry panels.
Functional Keratin was fully evaluated, before being released to the product.
The testing was conducted using human volunteers, not laboratory animals.
A better choice than body creams with collagen and elastin is a lotion that contains Functional Keratin, coenzyme Q10, natural vitamin E, wakame kelp extracts, manuka honey, vitamin B5, olive, jojoba and grape seed oil.
That may sound like a lot of ingredients, but the best lotion on the market contains all of them, simply because they are all accompanied by unique health benefits.
So you see collagen and elastin added to skin creams are not beneficial to the skin's health.
The gelatin like consistency may provide some cosmetic benefits, for a few hours, but that's about it.
So, in my opinion, body creams with collagen and elastin are a waste of money.
There are better options.
