- 1). Thread the laces through the bottom two eyelets of the shoe.
- 2). Center the halfway point, where the two colors meet, in between the eyelets.
- 3). Thread the rest of the eyelets as you would normally. Alternate the color that overlaps each time the two sides meet in the middle of the shoe to give some symmetry to the lacing pattern.
- 1). Cut both shoelaces in half. The shoelaces you use should be slightly too long for your shoes.
- 2). Tie a knot using the cut ends of two of the shortened laces that are different colors — tie a red lace to a blue lace, for example. Any kind of knot will do, but make sure that the knot is tight. Leave at least 3 inches of the cut end hanging loose so that you can tuck it in to the shoe under the eyelet.
- 3). Thread the lace through the bottom eyelets and center the knot between the two bottom eyelets. Do this by placing the knot in between the eyelets and pushing the two ends of the lace outward through the eyelets.
- 4). Thread the rest of the eyelets as you would normally. Alternate the color that overlaps each time the two sides meet in the middle of the shoe, to give some symmetry to the lacing pattern.
- 5). Repeat the same steps to create and thread the lace for the other shoe with the other two shoelace halves.
- 1). Hold the ends of two colored laces together so that both laces thread through the eyelets together.
- 2). Thread them through the bottom eyelets; center them so that both ends are the same length. Depending on how large your eyelets are, both laces may not fit through the eyelets together — you may need to alternate pushing each lace through.
- 3). Thread the rest of the eyelets as you would normally. Twist the laces as you thread so that both colors are visible when you wear the shoes.
