- 1). Wipe away dirt and loose debris from the rusted chrome with a damp sponge. Dry it with a paper towel.
- 2). Fill a small bowl with water. Dip your steel wool cleaning pad into the bowl of water to saturate it.
- 3). Scrub the rust spots on the chrome with the steel wool pad. Keep the steel wool wet by re-dipping it while you are scrubbing the rust. Use a wet toothbrush and toothpaste to clean rust from deeper grooves, scratches and crevices.
- 4). Rinse the cleanser and soap from the steel wool pad off the chrome with clean water. Dry with a dry microfiber cloth.
- 5). Polish the chrome by applying a small amount of chrome polish to a microfiber cloth and buffing it in a circular motion.
