- 1). Form a Manga character's head. Using a light-colored pencil, draw the outline of a strawberry. (Valentine-heart and strawberry shapes typically form Manga characters' heads.) You can use yellow, gray or another color that's easy to correct when you make a mistake.
- 2). Use the same pencil to draw a curve connecting the face's chin with its head (the strawberry's bottom and top). This curve is a reference to help you place eyes and other facial features.
- 3). Sketch the right eye's outline. Sketch a large oval in the face's center. Make the oval at least one quarter the size of the face outline.
- 4). Draw two ovals, each within the other, inside the right eye's outline. These new ovals represent the iris and pupil.
- 5). Make the left eye Draw an oval with the left edge skirting the face's left edge. This oval is at roughly the same vertical level as the right eye, but is slightly smaller.
- 6). Repeat step 4 to make the iris and pupil for the left eye.
- 7). Begin coloring. Apply a peach-colored marker to the entire inside of the face, except the eye. If you don't have a peach marker, use a yellow one.
- 8). Color the iris with a blue marker. But, leave clear a large oval region and the pupil. The oval region will be the eye's highlight.
- 9). Color the pupil with a black marker.
- 10
Color the left eye with the same instructions used for the right one. - 11
Using a thin black marker, add the nose and mouth. Draw a backward "L" below and between the eyes. Add the mouth as a small "M" in the space between the nose and the chin. - 12
Complete the drawing by creating the hair with a yellow, black, magenta or blue marker.
