- 1). Wet an absorbent cloth with rubbing alcohol. Press the cloth hard onto the stain to force the alcohol into the fabric fibers. Use the back of a spoon or other solid object to press the cloth to the stain for sturdier fabrics such as denim.
- 2). Moisten the cloth in more alcohol as needed and continue pressing until the stain is loosened. Lift the cloth and peel away any loosened sap.
- 3). Dampen a second cloth with vegetable shortening and press it into the cloth the same way you did the rubbing alcohol. This should loosen the remainder of the sap.
- 4). Mix 1/2 teaspoon mild dish detergent with 1/2 cup warm water. Pour the solution through the fabric to remove the rest of the stain.
- 5). Rinse the fabric in clean water and wash as usual.
