    Capacity

    • Currently, the Creative Zen comes in five different varieties: the Zen MX, Zen Mosaic EZ300, Zen X-Fi, X-Fi with wireless LAN and the Zen X-Fi2. These five players range in storage from 4GB up to 32GB. In a 4GB player, the capacity is up to two thousand songs in .wma format, or up to one thousand MP3s. At 32GB, song capacity increases to 8000 mp3s. With the exception of the Mosaic EZ300, the Zens also play video, holding between 30 hours at 8GB and 120 hours at 32GB.

      The Sansa Fuze comes in 2, 4 and 8GB sizes. With 2GB, the storage capacity is 500, and at 4, it ups to 1,000. All sizes of the Fuze play video, and can hold from 6 hours to 24 hours. In addition, the Fuze also stores pictures, and can save between 1200 and 4800 pictures. Only the Zen X-Fi2 has picture support.

    Battery Life

    • With Creative Zen players, the battery life is anywhere between 25 and 36 hours if listening to audio only. When watching video, the battery life reduces to 5 hours. In the Sanza Fuze, the battery life is up to 24 hours with audio. For video, the Fuze's battery life also reduces to 5 hours. Both player brands have rechargeable batteries.

    Size

    • The most lightweight of the Zen players is the Mosaic EZ300. At 1.5 ounces, it is 1.6 inches long, 3.5 inches wide and .5 inches thick. The largest Zen, the X-Fi2, is 2.6 ounces, 4 inches long, 2.2 inches wide and .5 inches thick. With the Fuze, all models are 3.1 inches long, 1.9 inches wide and .3 inches thick. Screen size with the Zens is 2.5 inches, with the exception of the X-Fi2's 3 inch screen. For Sanza Fuzes, screen size is 1.9 inches.

    Extra Amenities

    • The Zen players have several extra features included. All models except the Mosaic EZ300 include a memory slot to expand music and video storage capacities. The X-Fi, the X-Fi with wireless LAN, and the MX can accept SD or SDHC memory cards, while the X-Fi2 accepts microSD cards. The Sanza Fuze also has a memory card slot, and accepts either microSD or microSDHC cards.

      Both the Zen players and the Sansa Fuze include FM radio playback and voice recording. The Zen players include the ability to create playlists within the player, as well as calendar, task list and contacts lists.

    Price

    • The Sansa Fuze ranges in price from $69.99 to $99.99. The 2GB Fuze costs $69.99, the 4GB is $79.99, and the 8GB is $99.99. The cheapest Zen, the Mosaic EZ300, costs $49.99 for 4GB. The most expensive, the 32GB X-Fi2, is $229.99. The 8GB Zen X-Fi costs $119.99. For the Zen MX, expect to pay $99.99 for the 8GB or $129.99 for the 16GB. A 16GB Zen X-Fi with wireless LAN will cost $149.99, whereas a 32GB version is $199.99. All prices are as of 2009.
