Hi, this is Asie Mohtarez, and this is how to do an overhanded braid. Let's say you are not the best braider, but you want to do a nice simple overhanded braid on the side. So first you would take your hair and divide it into two pieces, two quadrants. There's a top half and a bottom half. You take the top half, divide it into three pieces and then you cross the right over the center piece and then the left over that new what it used to be the right, what is now the centerpiece and then you gather, you marry some of the hair from the bottom onto the left piece and onto the right piece, you will have three pieces still and then you just cross the left over the right, over the left, over the right all the way down as far down as you want to take your braid and then tie it, I prefer about two to three times depending on the thickness of your hair with a hair tie and just you know, scrunch it up a little bit, nice simple braid.
