- Download Accelerator Plus is a file-transfer client produced by SpeedBit Ltd. The program increases file download speed by breaking the file up into sections and establishing a different connection for each to download all sections simultaneously. The user is first prompted for a location on the local computer. This is the destination of the file. At this point, the user can elect to change the file name, though it is defaulted to the name of the file in its original location. While the file is in the process of downloading, Download Accelerator Plus appends the DAP file extension to the target file name. Once downloading has completed, the program copies it to the specified name and deletes the DAP file.
