Difference between Snowblowers and Sandblowers

    Snowblowers

    • After a heavy snow, you can use a snowblower to clear snow from roads, driveways and walkways. You may own a small snowblower for personal use in your driveway and yards. Your county or other government municipality may use an industrial snowblower, which is larger than a personal-use blower, to clear roads and highways. Snowblowers use a stream of air to push snow from one spot to another.

    Sandblasters

    • Sandblasters are industrial machines that spray fine abrasive materials, such as sand, steel grit or even ground nut shells, onto a surface to clean it. The sand or other materials must be sprayed at high velocities so that the particles will hit your surface hard enough to clear it of any debris.

    Considerations

    • Snowblowers and sandblasters may look similar, depending on their models. Because they propel air and sand at high speeds, they require you to wear protective gear, such as gloves and eye goggles, while you use them.
