- 1). Go to garage sales and look for any old jewelry items. Individuals may be selling a small amount of jewelry that you can buy cheaply to add to your collection of scrap gold and silver.
- 2). Ask family members about any broken jewelry, coins or other unwanted scrap gold and silver items that they may have. You may be able to get the scrap without having to pay for it, depending on your relationship with your family of course.
- 3). Visit local pawn shops or antique shops and ask about scrap gold and silver or browse their selection of jewelry. The pawn shops may have a few pieces of broken gold and silver jewelry or old gold and silver coins. You should be able to find a few old small gold rings, earrings, bracelets and necklaces for a decent price to add to your scrap pile.
- 4). Shop online at gold and scrap dealers and buyer websites. You can place orders and have the scrap delivered to your home or business (see Resources).
