Sometimes we let emotion drive us to eat certain kinds of foods and it's good to identify that so you are aware.

I know a lot of people would disagree with me but don't weigh yourself everyday and track it in your journal. Your weight naturally fluctuates every day and a lot of times, we use that information to set our mood for the day. It's just not necessary and is probably the number one reason why diets fail and you give up. Once a week is sufficient to see the progress you make.

Losing weight at a steady and slower pace is much healthier for a person's body. If you make it a long term goal instead of a plan to be a certain size for a special occasion, you will have much better success. Developing new habits takes time and by jumping into a new rigorous schedule of dieting and exercise just doesn't go far in the long run. Start with just a few new things and add them to your current situation. Whether it's a new food or new exercise, make it a pleasant experience so you will want to eat it or do it again. Write down the new food or new exercise you did each day and comment as to how you did or did not enjoy it. You will be amazed with how much journaling your weight loss efforts will aid to your success.
