Motorcycle Poker Run

Motorcyclists begin years ago to band together and ride.
The number of bikers who have formed clubs and ride just for pleasure and camaraderie is staggering.
99% of bikers today ride just because.
Harley Davidson, Suzuki, Honda, Indian and Victory are just a few of the motorcycle manufacturers who sell to all walks of life.
Weekend poker runs have become very popular and in some cases profitable.
Fashioned after the card game the event could be 5 card, 7 card or any number of cards the organizer decides to use.
The riders will meet at the starting location to sign up and pay the entry fee.
The location of each poker stop is pre-determined by the organizer and is usually an eatery or a place to indulge in refreshments.
Depending on the size of the event it could cost each rider $5.
00 up.
The rides have become so popular they are advertised in local newspapers, television and of course the popular biker magazines like "Born To Ride".
Most charitable organizations have figured out that bikers are very generous and jump at an opportunity to affiliate.
A biker planning to attend a run could expect the following: * Group meets at a designated staging area (most runs are open so anyone can attend) * Sign up and pay the entry fee (some runs allow more than one hand per person) * Choose a card from the deck spread out face down on the table * Your card is logged next to your name as the first in your hand and then returned to the pile for the next participant * Get the list of designated stops to play the next hand (in case you get separated) * The organizer will advise what time the participants will be leaving and where the next stop is * The group will have a lead bike and depending on the size, several designated participants who will act as traffic control (larger runs may require police escorts who will block intersections to keep the riders safe and allow the participants to stay together * At each stop a new card is drawn and logged as your playing hand * Several hands are reserved for the last stop and the winners will be determined by their best hands.
The pot will be split with the highest hand receiving the most There are many different types of poker runs some like this one while others are 100% for charity.
