How to Load Driver Updates on a Mac with Windows

    • 1). Open your Internet browser and navigate to the website that is providing the Mac driver downloads. The drivers you need depend on the hardware you are updating on the Mac computer. If the hardware is created by Apple, select "Support," "Mac," and then choose the hardware you need to update and click the driver download. The driver will then begin to download to the computer.

    • 2). Insert the USB flash drive into one of the USB ports on the Windows computer. Once the computer detects the flash drive, a window will appear, stating that the system has detected a new, removable device.

    • 3). Click "Start," "(My) Computer" and double-click the removable device icon. Click and drag the Mac drivers you downloaded into this open window.

    • 4). Close out the open window once it has finished copying over to the flash drive, and then right-click the removable device icon and choose "Eject" from the pull-down menu. Once the device icon disappears, remove the flash drive from the Windows computer.

    • 5). Plug the USB flash drive into a USB port on the Mac computer. In a moment a flash drive icon will appear on the desktop. Double-click this icon, and then double-click the driver icon. This will load the driver installation wizard. Follow the prompts of the wizard to completely install the drivers onto the Mac computer.
